Week -1&2 

• FUNDAMENTALS OF COMPUTER

Definition of computer, History of Computer, Generation of Computers, Components of computer, Computer Memory, Concepts of Hardware and Software, Types of Computer, Block Diagram and brief introduction of each Block

• OPERATING SYSTEM CONCEPTS

Introduction to operating System, Types of Operating System, Process Management, CPU Scheduling, Concurrent Programming & Deadlocks,. Memory Management and File Systems. Introduction to Disk Operating System (DOS), internal and external commands of DOS. Introduction to Windows, Managing File and Folders, Desktop, Start Menu, System Utilities.

Week -3 & 6 

• OVERVIEW OF WORD, EXCEL & POWERPOINT

Word :  Word processing Basics, Text creation and Editing, Formatting text and Paragraph, Header and footer, graphics, table, Mail merge, Page setup and Print.

Excel :  Elements of spread sheet, Manipulation of cells, Formula and Functions, Managing Data, charts and Graphs, Page Setup and Print

PowerPoint :  Basics of presentation, slide preparation and inserting objects, templates and color schemes, animations and slide presentation, printing handouts. 

Week -7 to 14

• BASIC ELECTRONICS (Analog and Digital)

Current and Voltage, Resistors, Circuits and Ohm’s Law, Voltage Rise and Voltage Drop, Soldering and De-soldering, Inductor and Capacitor, Using Oscilloscope, Transformer, Semiconductor PN Junction Diode , Half wave and Full wave Rectifier, Bridge Rectifier, Transistor Power Supply – Introduction to SMPS, Number System and its conversion, Logic Gates, Half Adder and Half Subtractor, Multiplexer and Demultiplexer, Encoder and Decoder, SR Flip – Flop, D Flip Flop, JK Flip, Flop, Multivibrator Computer Organization and Architecture, Introduction to Microprocessor, Pentium Processor, Site Preparation and Environmental Issues and trouble shooting

Week -15 to 20

• COMPUTER HARDWARE & PERIPHERALS

Monitor, CPU, motherboard, RAM, BIOS, CD-Rom, DVD- Rom, Printer and its types, scanner, hard disk, flash drive (AKA pen drive), processor, pci slots, pci buses, floppy disk, power supply, VGA card, sound card, network interface card, peripherals, joystick, mouse, keyboard, foot pedal, computer fan, camera, headset, Combo box, Modems, Digital Camera, Sound, Video Cards, Speakers, Video output devices, installing drivers, referring OS manuals and trouble shooting

 

 

 

Week – 21 & 22

• INTERNET AND E-MAIL

Introduction, Basics of Computer network, WWW and Web browsers, navigating through web, Services on web – E-mail, Chat etc. Security, privacy issues, search & Downloading and trouble shooting.

 

Week – 23 & 24

• INTALLATION OF OPERATING SYSTEM AND SOFTWARE

Installing Microsoft, Unix & Linux , installing application software & settings, Backup and Restore, trouble shooting and referring manuals

Week – 25

• ANTI VIRUS INTALLATION

Installing & Configuring antivirus software, Updating Virus Definition, referring manuals, Protecting Internet Email Gateways, Network Servers, Workstations and exchange Servers using Antivirus Software, Downloading Virus removal Tools from Internet, Internet Security and trouble shooting.
